Description of Presentation
Google SketchUp is a free and powerful tool for use in the high-school math classroom. This presentation will highlight the different tools available in the program that are popular and useful with both the students and teachers. It will also describe projects that have been done with SketchUp, and the features of SketchUp that enhance student work. The goal is to spark interest and imagination within the teachers to develop engaging opportunities for students to learn while creating unique products.

PRESENTATION NOTES (Blog) - by Kelli Murphy, Gettysburg

-Application is used mostly for his Geometry class
-Picture is a screen shot of one of his student's project -- bedroom
-Pro Version is not necessary but has some nice additives
-Hank worked within the program to demonstrate the ease of use
-Push/Pull Tool, setting Dimensions, Arch Tool, Orbit Tool (changes the perspective), Follow-me Tool (follows a line creating an object), Paint Tool, (add fills, paint and texture to objects), Line Tool (keeps line straight without lots of effort), Protractor tool great for teachers (changes colors depending on which axis point you are using), Scale Down tool (great to use with components that are already made),
-Program can be tricky as you are working in 3D so you need to look at the perspectives to make sure that all is connecting when you want or placed where you intended.
